How Text Giving Can Spur Online Donations
Make it Available
Have you signed up for a text to give option from your online giving provider? If your online giving provider does not have this as an option, you could consider switching to another provider that does provide this necessary feature. Other options include PayPal, SimpleGive and easyTithe.
Make it Easy
One of the best ways to utilize this giving option is to show your church congregation members how to use it properly. A quick tutorial or demo during the morning announcements can be a fast way to make sure your audience knows about this giving option. If your Sunday announcements are jam packed, another way to communicate about your new giving option is to make a quick video. If your church has its own AV equipment, simply record a quick demo of how to use text to give, and then post it to you church’s website, social media channels or send it in a quick eblast.

To your Congregation: What is a donation going toward? If you are in the midst of a church-wide fundraising campaign, show your congregation members what their donations have provided, or how they’re progressing toward a fundraising goal. You can easily break down how much of the funding came in through text giving versus other methods as well.
To your Staff: You can also show your staff members the impact that online giving and text giving has had for your church. Reports are fast and convenient to pull, and giving your staff the overview of how giving has increased is sure to get everyone into a more cheerful spirit.
